Veggie Grill: Where Veggie Centric Meets Fast Casual
In this episode of Fast Casual Nation, brought to you by Chepri, host Paul Barron chats with Greg Dollarhyde, the former CEO of Veggie Grill. He currently serves on the board of directors for the fast casual chain.
Veggie Grill aims to meet customers halfway by providing well-crafted, delicious food that is still wholesome and healthy to eat. The chain’s menu includes dishes often seen in diners, but with less calories and healthier ingredients.
“Veggie Grill is veggie centric—we sell veggie centric food to veggie-positive people,” emphasizes Dollarhyde. And what is a veggie-positive person? “Anybody who just wants to introduce more of this style of food into their life,” says Dollarhyde. “We’re not targeted toward one particular person.” The goal is to keep everything plant-based without coming at the cost of flavor.
The menu has four ever-expanding sections: sandwiches, bowls, salads, and sides. Meals can range from a Sonoran winter bowl to a quinoa power salad. Customers can also use the “pick a pair” option to craft their own unique dish. Meals can be light or indulgent, cheap or more expensive—the choice is yours. “We have all the price points,” adds Dollarhyde, “and I think you can come in and put together the meal you want for the price you want.”
